Terms of Use
Translation. This English version is provided for convenience. The Portuguese version of these terms is the official text; in case of any conflict or difference in interpretation, the Portuguese version prevails.
In short. ClipLeve creates, on your iPhone, smaller copies of compatible videos — each one is a new, smaller copy — without changing the original. The first smaller copy is free; after that, ClipLeve Pro is available as an auto-renewable annual subscription (cancel anytime, with a free trial for new subscribers when offered) or as a one-time lifetime plan. Moving an original to Recently Deleted is always your decision, optional and confirmed by the iPhone. Nothing in these terms reduces your rights as a consumer.
1. Who offers the app
ClipLeve is offered by Luis Antonio da Silva Junior (“we”). Support: hello@clipleve.com.
By downloading or using ClipLeve, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. License
ClipLeve is distributed through the App Store. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable license to use the app on Apple devices that you own or control, under the App Store usage rules and Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which applies to ClipLeve and is supplemented by these terms.
Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the app or its support. In case of conflict between these terms and Apple's standard agreement, whichever is more favorable to you prevails, always in accordance with Brazilian law.
3. What ClipLeve does and does not do
- It creates, on the iPhone itself, a smaller copy — a new, smaller copy — of a compatible video from your Photos library. Before saving it to Photos, it reads the smaller copy in full and compares it with the original; once saved, it reads the copy back from Photos and checks it by hash. With ClipLeve Pro, up to 50 videos can be placed in a queue, processed one video at a time with the same checks.
- With ClipLeve Pro, it prepares a version of a video (or of a clip) that fits the size limit of the destination you choose, for you to share through the iPhone share sheet (“Send a smaller version”). That file is temporary, is deleted after sharing and is not saved to Photos. The destination you choose (for example, a messaging app) follows its provider's rules.
- It shows estimated sizes (marked with “≈”) to sort videos and, for each size option, before anything is processed. Estimates are not a guarantee: the final size is only known when the smaller copy is done. When the app shows available space, including before and after you empty Recently Deleted, it is a reading of the value reported by the system, not a promise.
- It does not overwrite or edit the original video.
- It lets you, optionally, ask for an original to be moved to Recently Deleted after the corresponding smaller copy has been saved and verified, always with the iPhone's confirmation (section 6).
- It does not delete videos automatically or permanently. In the queue, originals are only moved to Recently Deleted if you turn on “Replace originals when done”, after every smaller copy has been verified and with one iPhone confirmation.
- It does not send your videos to servers, does not make backups and does not replace a backup strategy.
- It only downloads from iCloud with your consent: when the original is stored only in iCloud, the download starts only after you tap Download from iCloud and continue, uses internet data (including cellular data, depending on your iPhone settings) and temporary storage, and the original stays in Photos and in iCloud.
Supported formats and limits are described in the app, under See compatibility, and on the website. In this version: up to 30 minutes, up to 10 GB original file, up to 4K and 120 frames per second, H.264 and HEVC in MOV or MP4, including HEVC HDR in HLG and Dolby Vision 8.4, which stay HDR. Videos edited in Photos and time-lapse are supported; for edited videos, the smaller copy keeps the edit made in Photos. Cinematic mode, slow motion and spatial videos are not supported. Before the smaller copy is created, each video goes through a compatibility check; if it is not compatible, the app says so and does not offer a purchase to process it.
4. Free smaller copy and plans
Free smaller copy. The first smaller copy that is saved and verified in Photos is free, with no watermark and without shortening the video. Comparisons, estimates, the demo, failures, cancellations and videos that were already light (insufficient reduction) do not use it up. The record of use stays on this iPhone; deleting the smaller copy afterward does not give the free version back.
What ClipLeve Pro includes. New smaller copies, the video queue and “Send a smaller version”, within the formats and limits described in this version. The per-file format, duration and size limits apply on every plan. Future services or features not described in the offer are not automatically included. Comparisons, estimates, the demo, help, history, restore, and reviewing and removing originals do not require a plan.
Price. The applicable price of each plan is the one shown by the App Store before you confirm, in your storefront's currency, with applicable taxes under Apple's rules. We do not publish prices on this website that could differ from those shown by the App Store.
4.1 ClipLeve Pro Annual (auto-renewable subscription)
- Length and payment. The subscription period is one (1) year. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase or, if there is a free trial, when the trial ends.
- Automatic renewal. The subscription automatically renews for another year, at the then-current price, unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple charges the renewal within the 24 hours before the end of the period.
- Free trial. When offered by the App Store, the free trial is for new subscribers, under Apple's eligibility rules, and its length is shown on the purchase screen (for example, 3 days). When the trial ends, it automatically converts into a paid subscription charged at the annual price shown, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. If you cancel during the trial, access ends when the trial ends and nothing is charged. If you buy the lifetime plan during the trial, the unused portion of the trial is forfeited and you must cancel the subscription yourself to avoid being charged.
- Managing and canceling. You can manage or cancel the subscription at any time in iPhone Settings › your name › Subscriptions or in ClipLeve Settings › Manage subscription. Canceling stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the period already paid. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.
- Price changes. Subscription price changes follow Apple's rules: Apple notifies subscribers in advance and, when required, asks for your consent before charging the new price. If you do not agree, the subscription does not renew.
4.2 ClipLeve Lifetime (one-time payment)
A one-time (non-consumable) purchase made through the App Store, with no automatic renewal and no recurring charge, that unlocks the ClipLeve Pro features described in this version for as long as the app remains compatible with your iPhone (section 10).
4.3 App Store account and restore
Plans are tied to the App Store account used to buy them and can be restored in ClipLeve Settings > Restore Purchase, including on another iPhone with the same account. Payment is processed by Apple; we do not receive your card details. Plans are not shared through Family Sharing. Subscription status is checked on the iPhone itself, using the signed information provided by Apple.
4.4 No active plan
If the subscription ends or a purchase is refunded or revoked, new smaller copies, the queue and sending smaller versions are no longer available until you get a plan. A job that was already authorized and is in progress may be completed. Smaller copies already saved to Photos remain in your library, and help, history, restore, and reviewing and removing originals remain available.
5. Cancellation, refunds and right of withdrawal
Cancellation. You cancel the subscription yourself, at any time, in iPhone Settings or with the Manage subscription button in ClipLeve (section 4.1), with no fee and without needing to contact us. Canceling stops future charges but does not, by itself, refund a period already charged.
Refunds are requested from Apple. Because the App Store charges and processes payments, we have no access to them and cannot issue refunds directly. Refund requests, including the exercise of a right of withdrawal, must be made to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, following Apple's instructions. If a refund is granted, the corresponding plan is revoked (section 4.4).
Help from us. You can also contact us at hello@clipleve.com to report problems with the purchase, billing or how the app works; we will help you resolve it with Apple.
Apple's rules do not override the rights guaranteed by Brazil's Consumer Protection Code (Law No. 8,078/1990, “CDC”), including the right of withdrawal within 7 days of the purchase under article 49 where applicable, and the right to complain about product or service defects, nor any mandatory consumer rights you have under the law of your place of residence.
6. Removing originals: your decision
ClipLeve only asks Photos to move an original to Recently Deleted after the corresponding smaller copy has been saved and verified in Photos, and always with the iPhone's own confirmation. This can happen in three ways, all by your choice: (a) Replace the original, on the result screen, which saves the smaller copy, checks it in Photos by hash and only then asks for the system confirmation; (b) Compare both, after keeping both, where you compare the videos, check “I compared them and want to move this original to Recently Deleted”, confirm in the app and in the system, and the app checks the original and the smaller copy again immediately before the request; and (c) in the queue, the Replace originals when done option, where a single iPhone confirmation covers the originals whose smaller copies have all been verified. If there is any doubt at any step, nothing is removed.
The decision to remove is yours. Before confirming, keep in mind that:
- compression can reduce details you may want to keep; compare and watch the smaller copy before deciding;
- the removed item goes to the Recently Deleted album in Photos, which usually keeps it for up to 30 days. Recently Deleted is not a backup: recovery depends on the state of the library and of iCloud, and we cannot guarantee it;
- if you use iCloud Photos, the removal may appear on all your connected devices; in a shared library, it may also affect the other participants;
- the behavior of Photos, iCloud and the system is controlled by Apple. See Apple's guidance on deleted items.
We recommend keeping your own backup of important memories. You can always choose “Keep both”.
7. Results, quality and storage
The size reduction varies by file and may be small or nonexistent, for example, for videos that are already well compressed. The app only offers to save a smaller copy when it is at least 5% and 5 MB smaller than the original; otherwise, it says the video is already light, without using up the free version.
We do not promise any amount of freed space on the iPhone or in iCloud. Keeping both keeps both videos until you decide what to keep; an original moved to Recently Deleted still takes up space until it leaves that album, and when the device's storage changes depends on Photos and iCloud. The sizes shown in the app are file sizes, and the available-space measurement is only a reading of the system's value.
8. Acceptable use
Use ClipLeve only with videos you have the right to copy and store. You may not modify, decompile or redistribute the app, except where the law expressly allows it.
9. Liability
We are responsible for ClipLeve under Brazilian law, including the Consumer Protection Code. Nothing in these terms excludes, limits or reduces warranties, liabilities or rights that the law does not allow to be waived.
We do our best to make the app work as described, and it was designed to preserve the original in case of failure, cancellation or doubt. Services operated by third parties — such as the App Store, Photos, iCloud Photos and iOS itself — follow their respective providers' rules. If you suspect any problem with your videos, avoid further removals and contact us; issues involving possible loss of media get priority.
10. Updates and availability
We may publish updates to fix problems, maintain compatibility with iOS or improve the app. We do not intend to withdraw paid features described in the offer during a subscription period already paid or for lifetime buyers; if a technical limitation requires a change, we will give advance notice, without prejudice to your consumer rights. Compatibility with future iOS versions or new video formats is not guaranteed and will be stated on the App Store and in the app.
11. Intellectual property
The ClipLeve name, the app, its text, icons and interface belong to Luis Antonio da Silva Junior or are used with permission. Your videos and the smaller copies created from them remain yours. iPhone, Photos, iCloud and App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes in the app or in the law. The current version is on this page, with the date at the top. Changes do not apply retroactively to purchases already made to the consumer's detriment.
13. Governing law and venue
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. You may bring a claim in the courts of your place of residence, as provided by the Consumer Protection Code. Before that, if you prefer, contact us or use Brazil's public consumer platform consumidor.gov.br (in Portuguese).
If you live outside Brazil (for example, in the United States), this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer laws of your place of residence, and you may also use the courts and consumer agencies available to you there.
These terms are published in Portuguese and English. In case of any conflict or difference in interpretation between the versions, the Portuguese version prevails.
