Privacy Policy
Translation. This English version is provided for convenience. The Portuguese version of this policy is the official text; in case of any conflict or difference in interpretation, the Portuguese version prevails.
Summary. Your videos stay with you. ClipLeve processes videos on your iPhone and does not send them to servers. The app has no account, sign-up, ads, tracking or analytics SDK. What the app stores stays on your device. We receive information when you write to us or share a diagnostics report. Launch announcement registration is now closed; earlier registrations remain subject to the terms in section 8. The plans (annual subscription and lifetime), the video queue and “Send a smaller version” do not change these practices: your plan status is checked on the iPhone itself, with Apple's StoreKit.
1. Who is responsible
The controller of the personal data processed in connection with ClipLeve, under Brazil's General Data Protection Law (Law No. 13,709/2018, “LGPD”), is:
Luis Antonio da Silva JuniorPrivacy and support contact: hello@clipleve.com
Use this email address for questions about this policy and to exercise your rights as a data subject.
2. What we do not collect
The app does not transmit to us, or to third parties hired by us:
- your videos, photos, thumbnails, file names or the location stored in the media;
- identifiers of the items in your library, file hashes or information about the size of your library;
- information about the device's storage space;
- name, email, phone number or account — the app has no sign-up or login;
- advertising identifier (IDFA), tracking data or device fingerprinting;
- contacts, device location, camera or microphone — the app does not request these permissions.
ClipLeve contains no third-party advertising, analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, does not use AI to analyze content and does not track you as defined by Apple.
3. Photos access and processing on the iPhone
ClipLeve asks for access to your Photos library to list videos, create smaller versions and save new copies. You can allow access to all videos or only some, and change this at any time in iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos. Without permission, help, purchase information, restore and the demo remain available.
Analysis, preview, compression and verification happen on your iPhone. The app saves a new copy to Photos only when you ask it to. The copy may keep the creation date, favorite status and location already present in the original video; this information does not leave the device through the app.
If you choose to replace or remove an original, the app only sends the request to Photos after saving and verifying the corresponding smaller copy, with your choice and the system's confirmation. The item goes to the Recently Deleted album in Photos; the app never deletes permanently.
Video queue. In the queue, each video you chose is processed and verified on the iPhone, one at a time, exactly like a single video. If you enable “Replace originals when finished”, the app can request moving the originals to Recently Deleted after all smaller copies have been saved and verified, with one iPhone confirmation. Without that choice, the originals are kept.
Send a smaller version. The app creates a compact temporary file on the device and opens the iOS share sheet. The file only leaves the iPhone to the destination you choose (for example, a messaging or email app), under that destination's rules and privacy policy; it does not pass through us. The temporary file is deleted when the share sheet closes and nothing is saved to Photos.
Estimated sizes. Size estimates are calculated on the iPhone from duration, resolution and the measured preview, without downloading originals and without sending anything.
iCloud Photos may download and sync media according to your settings with Apple. This is separate from the local processing done by ClipLeve, which only downloads an original from iCloud when you tap Download from iCloud and continue; the download is handled by Apple's Photos and the video is not sent to ClipLeve servers.
4. What is stored on your iPhone
To work, and to safely resume an interrupted operation, the app keeps the following locally, without sending it to us:
| Information | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Job history: references between original and copy, sizes, profile, status and verification results | Show the history, resume steps and prevent a removal without a confirmed copy | Until you clear the history in ClipLeve Settings or delete the app |
| Temporary working files | Generate, check and save the new version | Removed when the job is completed or discarded; versions ready to save may expire after 24 hours. Jobs awaiting confirmation are kept until they are checked |
| Preferences (for example, default profile and completed introduction) | Remember your choices | Until you change them or delete the app |
| Free compression marker, in the iOS Keychain: a random job identifier and the date of use | Record that the first free compression has been used | Stays only on this device, is not synced through iCloud and is not transferred to another iPhone. It may remain on the device even after the app is deleted, depending on how iOS works. Clearing the history does not delete it |
| Diagnostics log: predefined step and result codes, app and iOS version, time | Help you report a problem, if you choose to | Up to 7 days, limited to the 500 most recent events; you can clear it in Settings > Diagnostics |
| Transaction identifier of a confirmed purchase and the date it was recorded | Avoid recording the same purchase twice in the diagnostics log. It does not grant access and is not included in the report | Up to 7 days, limited to 500 confirmations; kept when you clear the diagnostics |
| App version in which the App Store rating request was shown | Show the system rating request at most once per version | Until you delete the app |
| Available storage check | Show capacity and check whether there is room to process | Used at that moment; never included in diagnostics |
History, temporary files, recovery records and diagnostics are kept in the app's container, with iOS data protection, and are excluded from iPhone backups. As a result, the history may not carry over after a reinstall or a device change. Clearing the history or temporary files does not remove videos from Photos and does not affect your purchase.
Because this information stays only on your device, we have no access to it and cannot view, correct or delete it remotely. You can delete it yourself in ClipLeve Settings or by deleting the app.
5. App Store purchases, subscription and ratings
The annual subscription, the lifetime plan, the free trial, renewal, cancellation and restores are processed by Apple through the App Store. ClipLeve does not ask for or receive your card details or your Apple Account password.
Your plan status (active, in trial, renewing or expired) is checked locally, on the iPhone, with StoreKit: the app reads the signed transactions that Apple delivers to the device. App purchase verification does not use our own server: we do not receive App Store notifications about your subscription or maintain a subscriber database. The optional website launch notification list is separate and contains no purchase data. The Manage subscription option opens Apple's own subscriptions screen.
After a copy is saved and verified with a good reduction, the app may show the standard iOS rating request, at most once per version. If you choose to leave a rating, it goes to Apple and is published under App Store rules; we receive no data about you through this request.
Apple provides the app's owner with sales, refund and payment reports, subject to the platform's rules and privacy limits. These reports do not tell us your name or email. Apple's processing of data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
6. Diagnostics you share
In Settings > Diagnostics > Review Diagnostics, you see the complete text before deciding. For each event, the report contains only: app version, major iOS version, step and result code. It does not contain videos, photos, file names, library identifiers, times, storage information or detailed error messages.
The app never sends diagnostics automatically. They only leave the device if you tap Share Diagnostics and choose a destination in the iOS share sheet (for example, the Mail app). If you send them to us, they are handled as part of your support message (section 7).
7. Support messages
When you write to us at hello@clipleve.com, we process what you choose to send: your email address, your name if provided, the content of the message and any attachments, such as the diagnostics text. We use this information only to reply, solve the reported problem, handle purchase-related requests and comply with legal obligations.
Do not send personal videos, passwords or card details. If reproducing a problem would help, we will preferably ask for a test video with no private content.
Messages are stored with the email service used by the controller, which acts as a processor of this data and may store it outside Brazil, in compliance with the LGPD rules on international transfers. We keep correspondence for up to 12 months after the support case is closed, unless it must be kept longer to comply with a legal obligation or for the regular exercise of rights. You may request deletion sooner, subject to these exceptions.
We do not share support messages with third parties for advertising and we do not sell them.
8. This website
Optional launch announcement. Registration closed when the app launched. For people who registered earlier, the website form recorded their email, language, registration date and the version of their consent in a database hosted through Sites and Cloudflare. We use this information only to send the ClipLeve launch announcement. This does not create an app account or subscribe you to a newsletter. You can withdraw your consent and request deletion at hello@clipleve.com. Registration was confirmed on screen, without a confirmation email. We retain the registration until the announcement is sent or you ask us to remove it, whichever happens first. Website registration is separate from video processing on your iPhone.
The website pages do not include advertising pixels or analytics tools. The hosting and protection infrastructure may use technical cookies, such as Cloudflare's bot-protection cookies, for website security and operation. As with any website, the hosting service may automatically log technical access data — such as IP address, date and time, page visited and browser — for security and operation, according to the provider's rules and retention periods. We do not use these logs to identify visitors or for advertising.
9. Purposes and legal bases
| Processing | Purpose | Legal basis (LGPD, art. 7) |
|---|---|---|
| Support messages and diagnostics you send | Reply, solve problems and handle purchase-related requests | Performance of a contract and related procedures (item V) and legitimate interest in providing support (item IX) |
| Keeping correspondence after the support case | Comply with legal obligations and defend rights | Compliance with a legal obligation (item II) and regular exercise of rights (item VI) |
| Aggregated sales reports provided by Apple | Track sales, refunds and payments | Performance of a contract (item V) and compliance with a legal obligation (item II) |
| Website hosting technical logs | Website security and operation | Legitimate interest (item IX) |
Your videos are processed on your device, under your control, and no data is sent to us in the process.
10. Your rights (LGPD)
Under article 18 of the LGPD, you may request, regarding the personal data we process about you:
- confirmation that processing takes place;
- access to the data;
- correction of incomplete, inaccurate or outdated data;
- anonymization, blocking or deletion of unnecessary or excessive data, or data processed in breach of the law;
- portability of the data to another provider, subject to applicable regulations;
- deletion of data processed based on your consent, except where the law allows it to be kept;
- information about the entities with which we share data;
- information about the possibility of not giving consent and the consequences of refusing;
- withdrawal of consent, when consent is the basis for processing.
You may also object to processing based on legitimate interest when the law has not been complied with.
How to exercise your rights: email hello@clipleve.com with the subject “Privacy” and describe your request. Use the same email address as the message your request refers to, so we can find the information without asking for additional data. We will respond within the time limits set by the LGPD. There is no charge.
Information stored only on your iPhone (section 4) is not in our possession; you can delete it directly in the app or by deleting the app.
You also have the right to file a petition with Brazil's National Data Protection Authority (ANPD) at gov.br/anpd (in Portuguese).
11. Security
The app keeps its records in the protected iOS container, with data protection and backup exclusion for history, temporary files and diagnostics. The free compression marker is kept in the Keychain, restricted to this device. The app's public addresses use HTTPS. No measure is infallible; if a security incident occurs that may pose a significant risk to you, we will take the actions and make the notifications required by law.
12. Children and teenagers
ClipLeve is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. The app does not collect personal data from anyone. If a child or teenager needs support, we ask that a parent or legal guardian contact us. If we learn that we have received data from a child without a guardian's authorization, it will be deleted, unless the law requires it to be kept.
13. Changes to this policy
If the app starts handling data differently — for example, with a new service or feature — this policy will be updated before the change, with a new effective date at the top of the page. Significant changes will also be announced in the version notes on the App Store.
